Well a new month has begun well were into it now. There’s only 15 days till Xmas (for those of you who are counting.)
Well at the moment I’m playing with yet another piece of new software. This time its nothing to do with music creation it is a 3D modelling program called 3ds MAX. I’ve got the 2008 version.
Its proving quite fun to play with and I have been following some tutorials that I have found on the web. So far I have made a chess set and a plane. That doesn’t sound like much I know, but it takes a lot of time if you aren’t used to using it. Eventually I hope to get to the standard of making mods (What is a mod) for games. Particularly for the PC version of Bethesda Game Studios Oblivion.
These mods will add in new weapons and armour and even new features to the game. So it is good because it makes it possible to play the game for longer without getting bored.
Any way enough about mods and back to 3ds Max. The program is very good i think worth the money. (For a free 30 day trial click here).
There are other programs that do the same job but i feel they are harder to use. Programs such as blender are free. (Get blender here) but the interface seems a more difficult to get the hang of.

Interview With William Wallace
An artists rendition of William Wallace
Well I’m here interviewing famous Scottish patriot and commander SIR William Wallace.
So William when were you born?
“Well I was born 1272 in Elderslie (A map of Elderslie), Scotland”
Well I’m sure you know but it is said that you are one of the most famous Scots in history, how does that feel?
“I’m overwhelmed really; I didn’t do all that I did for recondition I did it to save the country I love from oppression.”
When you were a child did you ever think that one day you would be leading the Scotland on the way to independence.
“Well no, not really. When I was a child I saw how people were treated, and deep down I knew that it wasn’t right but I never thought that one day I would be marching into battle to try and change it.
So how did that battle for independence begin?
“It began when in May 1297; my wife Marion Braidfute of Lamington was killed by William Heselrig, the English Sheriff of Lanark. Then after that I achieved victory in skirmishes at Loudoun Hill (near Darvel, Ayrshire) and Ayr; I also fought alongside Sir William Douglas the Hardy at Scone, routing the English justiciar, William Ormesby. I helped to free towns such as Aberdeen, Perth, Glasgow, Scone, Dundee, and all lands north of the Firth of Forth.”
A famous battle you fought in was the “The Battle of Stirling Bridge” can you tell us any more about that?
“Well it was 11 September 1297.Although I was vastly outnumbered, the Scottish forces led by myself and Andrew Moray routed the English army. The Earl of Surrey's professional army of 3,000 cavalry and 10,000 infantry met disaster as they crossed over to the north side of the river. The narrowness of the bridge prevented many soldiers from crossing together possibly as few as three men abreast, so while the English soldiers crossed, we held back until half of them had passed and then we killed them as quickly as they could cross.”
A year later you lost the Battle of Falkirk how did that feel
“I was devastated I felt as if I had failed, so I gave up my position as Guardian of Scotland in favor of Robert the Bruce”
Thank you for your time.

Well I Finally Got It
Well I finally got Arch Enemy’s (pictured above) new album RISE OF THE TYRANT.
I think its great, much better than their last one. Angela Gossow’s vocals are much more natural without the computer added effects and multichannel recordings. Also Christopher Amott is also back after a period of two years teaching music in Sweden. So he adds his guitar style which I think arch enemy lacked when he left.
For more information about Arch Enemy or RISE OF THE TYRANT please see the wiki article

The Commonwealth games are coming!
Well the commonwealth games are coming to Glasgow in 2012 (Isn’t it weird that we say that like twenty twelve instead of two thousand and twelve, sorry just a thought) and everyone is talking about it, well almost.
I think it’s great that they are coming to Glasgow because of the bad reputation it gets. Maybe this will let people see that Glasgow isn’t the kind of place you will get stabbed in if you visit it and that the people there are as friendly as the rest of Scotland.
Also the new venues being built will provide hundreds of jobs.
Well you should take a look at the website to get more information if you are interested.

Whats been going on?
Well I'm still trying to get to grips with fruity loops (see post What I did during the holidays) I’m getting slightly better at it.
I made a short (quite bad) tune. Its good fun and I enjoy messing around on it.
Also I managed to break my guitar strings (again!) so I haven’t been able to use it recently :(, which kind of sucks.
Also my sister was up for a long weekend. It was good to see her because she lives in Doncaster so I don’t see her to often. I also saw my 8 month old niece.

Haunted Manson 1
You have arrived in Scotland and are waiting for a taxi. It was a reasonable flight. The taxi pulls up in front of you and you tell the driver your destination. They laugh at this and you find this a bit odd.
Some time passes and you pull up to a decrepit old run down house. You tell the driver there must be some mistake and that you are looking for Torry Hotel and they laugh and tells you that this is it.
You get out of the car and look around. The old house and a dark forest is the only thing you can see. There is a heavy smell of fish in the air; your friends notice it as well.

What I did during the holidays
Well I didn’t get up to much during my week off (a week pah I want my other week like all the schools.)
One of my mates recently passed his driving test so I’ve been driving about with him. No destination or anything just driving around what fun!
Also I got a new computer, well not new but still. Yeah my mates computer’s hardrive packed in so his parents bought a new one. I asked if I could have the old one since he was going to bin it! I could use it to practice on for my hardware course. Within ten minuets I had it fixed and working, great.
Now I use it more than my old one because it has less stuff on the hard drive so it plays my games better.
What else have did I do hmmm?
I’ve been trying to get to grips with my latest piece of kit Fruity Loops.
I’m finding it hard to learn as the manual I was supplied with was a corrupted file, so I have been watching many a youtube video to try and get some tutorials. So far I have found hundreds, so I will have to find some tailored for my taste in music.
Other than that nothing much happened. I spent a lot of time practicing on my guitar. So yeah all was good.

Holiday Work
While I was on Holiday I was given this task to read up on about how a rich Russian billionaire called Alisher Usmanovmade had Tim Ireland's Blog site shut down and Craig Murray former ambassador to Uzbekistan site shut down because they were both speaking about him on their blog sites about his take over of Arsenal football club.
Officially there was no laws broken just some talk about the Russians take over of Arsenal.
He then took offense to these comments and got them removed by making legal threats.
I think the blog hosts were within their right to take down there blogs as they described the posts as defamatory.
Even though it is obvious that the real reason for taking down the blogs was more due to pressure they were being put under by Alisher Usmanovmade.

My Thoughts On this Song
I was asked my thoughts on Bob Marley-Get Up Stand Up Live at the Rainbow. I thought it was quite repetitive and didn't make much sense. I'm not a great fan of Reggae so this song didn't really appeal to me.
I was also asked my thoughts on Bob Marley-No Women No Cry Live at the Rainbow. I thought it was better than the other song I listened to. It made more sense with a chorus that is memorable. All in all a better song in my opinion

Not much happening today. Watched the Simpson’s movie and it was crap, wouldn't recommend it. Glad when I had the choice I choose to go and see Transformers.

My First Post
Well I've finally started bogging for my college course. The Blog name is a bit boring I know but all I could think of at the time.
Well I've been at college for a few weeks now. The course is very interesting I prefer it to last years. (Although the course's name is the same because I had to re-do it because I was ill and missed most of the last one). I have made some interesting friends. There is more website design in this course which I like and less databases which is good because it's one of the subjects I failed last year.
